Family Mission Trip - March 2023

Today was a very full day! After a delicious breakfast, we got to work learning everything for our group program--enthusiastic songs with choreographed dances, Noah's Ark dramatization, a puppet show, live chalk art, trust fall and a Bible verse (Hebrews 11:6). We practiced and practiced.

And then we took our show on the road! We traveled about 60 km away from Progreso to a town called Hunucma where Pastor Ricardo is constructing a church. We served hot dogs, watermelon, juice and chips to the townsfolk, played games with the children and put on our program.

Following the program, Pastor Ricardo gave a passionate sermon about how Jesus changes lives. Many in attendance prayed along with him asking Jesus to be Lord of their lives. It was wonderful!

Finally, we were able to bless the children with small gifts of stuffed animals, Barbie dolls and toy cars. The stuffies were in high demand!

It was amazing to be able to bless our brothers and sisters in Hunucma. My favourite part was getting to see the look of pure joy on a sweet 2-year old's face as she clutched her stuffie tightly. I wish I had brought more stuffies. It made me think about how many my own kids have at home that they barely play with.

I pray the Lord will continue to bless Pastor Ricardo's ministry in Hunucma and the Holy Spirit will move mightily in the hearts of these precious new friends of ours!
