FAMILY EDUCATIONAL MISSION TRIP

What an exciting and interesting first day of training here in Progreso, Mexico. God has brought a unique and lovely team together to serve with him in the pueblos and communities where we will be over the course of the next 7 days.

We started our day by equipping our selves with the Lord, reading and discussing Ephesians 6 and the importance of putting on the full armor of God. We shared how Satan likes to find ways to get to us through our weaknesses and pull us apart with irritability, fatigue, sickness, and so on. We pray that God will protect, shape, and transform us throughout our days of ministry to the Yucatán people. We hope to bless and love those we meet while serving, as well as being transformed ourselves.

Today we prepared for many hours rehearsing our programs. From a puppet show to acting out Noah's Ark with Spanish narration, and sharing God’s light through chalk-art illustrations along with Spanish narration, and many other engaging activities. We sorted through the humanitarian bags, went on a scavenger hunt in the town of Progreso practicing our Spanish and interacting with the locals, and finished our evening with a debrief of the day.

In so many ways we go into this with blind faith – praying that the Lord will use us and show us the path where we can walk in a manner that is worthy of His gospel, shaping us to mount up with wings as eagles, run and not be weary, walk and not faint...that at the end of our time here, we will arrive home humbled by our own circumstances.
